Rita Medrano, O.D., earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1997. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Texas A&M University – College Station in 1993.

Dr. Medrano specializes in general optometry, with a focus on adult and pediatric care. Her interest in optometry began when she received her first pair of glasses at a young age and noticed a significant improvement in her vision. This personal experience inspired her to pursue a career in the medical field, ultimately leading her to optometry.

One of the aspects Dr. Medrano enjoys most about being an O.D. is the opportunity to meet and assist a diverse range of individuals. She finds great satisfaction in enhancing her patients’ vision, knowing that it significantly improves their quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Medrano enjoys spending time with her family, especially traveling and going on camping trips during the summer. Throughout the school year, she likes to support her daughters in their cheerleading and school activities.

Simon S. Yeung, O.D., received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta with first-class honors. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston and was awarded BSK honors graduate, as well as becoming a member of the Optometric Honor Society’s honors fraternity. Dr. Yeung passed rigorous examinations and demonstrated dedication to providing quality patient care.

He originally hails from Hong Kong and decided to enter the field of eye health care primarily due to the influence of his uncle, a successful physician. Dr. Yeung has been practicing for 35 years and specializes in numerous important areas of eye care, including dry eyes, blepharitis, glaucoma, and diabetes. He is an active and involved member of his professional community.

Dr. Yeung has been married for 32 year, and raised two sons, the older son is a Baylor trained GI oncologist, and the younger is an optometric glaucoma specialist, practicing in Denver. Dr. Yeung’s wife, Constance, is a retired pharmacist at Methodist hospital. Dr. Yeung enjoys traveling, playing tennis and working out in the gym. He dedicates many weekends to educating the next generation and serves as a teacher in Sunday School.
